Issues relating to Altar are maintained on the Aether Issue Tracker. This can be done until all the Ambrosium Shards that were placed on it are removed. This addon adds a new dimension above the clouds which adds new islands to the game for you to explore and use to decorate your worlds with brand new blocks. To retrieve Ambrosium Shards from the Altar, a player can right-click the block with their hand, causing one Ambrosium Shard to pop out. Tools can be placed in the center, and the enchanting process can be used to repair the item using Ambrosium Shards. The Aether is an extensive dimension with its unique gameplay and features. To get to the Aether, you need to build Glowstone Portal similar to the Obsidian Portal then use a Water Bucket. The Altar's second use is to repair items with the enchanting system. Much like The Aether Mod, this data pack adds a new dimension that is often referred to as the Sky or Heaven Dimension. An Altar can hold a maximum of 16 Ambrosium Shards floating around it. The item will not automatically go into a player's inventory, so the Altar must be stood near to obtain it. After a certain amount of Ambrosium Shards (determined by the recipe) are put onto the altar, it will cause the item to pop off of the block as the enchanted product, using up the Ambrosium Shards in the process. After an item is placed in the center, Ambrosium Shards must be right-clicked onto the Altar, making them appear as floating around the item. Except instead of lava filled hell-scape of fire and zombie pigmen, the Aether creates a heavenly sky realm populated by trees, semi-solid clouds, and flying pigs. To use an Altar, an item that has an enchanting recipe must be right-clicked on the Altar, and it will be placed in the center of it. The Aether Mod allows you to build a gateway to an entirely new region, similar to the Nether. Using an Altar does not involve a GUI, and instead requires interacting with the block. The Altar's main use is to enchant items with Ambrosium Shards, causing the item to be improved in some way.
